After beating out four other Canadian teams, the University of Calgary iGEM team of engineering, biological sciences and health sciences students will take on the rest of western North America in the next level of competition.

iGEM is the International Genetically Engineered Machine competition, an annual undergraduate synthetic biology contest that sees students design different biological systems to run in living cells.
