Dear Parents and Youth,
The Native Ambassador Post-Secondary Initiative (NAPI) program would like to extend an invitation to
parents and youth to participate in the NAPI program’s 2010 Parent & Youth Conference. The conference
will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the Blue Room at the Dining Centre, within the University of
Calgary from 1 to 4pm.
The purpose of the conference is to provide parents and prospective post-secondary Aboriginal students
with information regarding post-secondary admissions and programs. Plans for the event include a light
lunch, door prizes, 20 minute information sessions, information booths and a Presenter’s Panel
representing the UofC, SAIT, Mount Royal University and Bow Valley College.
The NAPI program is designed to provide information on post-secondary education, leadership training,
and positive role modeling to Aboriginal youth. Our primary goal is to motivate Aboriginal students of all
grades and ages to consider pursuing a post-secondary education.
This program represents a collaborative effort between The Native Centre at The University of Calgary,
Chinook Lodge at SAIT, the Aboriginal Education Program at Mount Royal University, the Aboriginal
Centre in Bow Valley College, the Calgary Board of Education, and the Calgary Catholic School District.
We hope you can join us on March 20th, and are looking forward to your attendance and participation! If
you have any questions, please contact me via email at stmrymak@ucalgary.ca or by phone at (403) 210-
9567. To register, please phone Cheryle at 403-220-3091 or 403-220-6034 or by email at
