Greetings colleagues! Please join us for Knowledge Translation Canada National Seminar Series Session #7 on Thursday, March 11th from 1000-1100 MT, with Dr. Onil Bhattacharyya. This session is entitled: "Making guidelines easier to follow: bridging best evidence and a clear message" Dr. Bhattacharyya is a clinician Scientist at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael's Hospital and assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is a career scientist with Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, a member of the Canadian Diabetes Association’s (CDA) executive committee. His main research interests are knowledge translation, quality improvement in diabetes, aboriginal health and global health. His project is part of the KT Canada Collaborative, and seeks to explore the relationship between the characteristics of guidelines and their uptake. ****Learning Objectives: Following the presentation, participants will: a. Understand the realist review approach to conducting a literature review around the concept of implementability; b. Identify the characteristics of a guideline which affect their uptake in practice; c. Learn about a process being undertaken to develop and evaluate a tool to enhance implementability of guidelines.
