Bring your own Lunch and Learn, entitled "Relaxation Techniques"

Date:    Wednesday, November 25th

Time:   12:05 - 12:55pm

Place:   O'Brien's Centre 1504/1506

Facilitator:  Monica Dragosz, Staff Wellness Centre

There are clear benefits to expanding our notion of relaxation beyond the practice of sitting on the couch in front of the television. In this experiential session, you will be introduced to some of the more common and accessible relaxation techniques that can help you be able to more intentionally bring yourself back to a naturally balanced state. Practices included are deep breathing meditation, "Freeze Frame Technique", guided visualization, and progressive muscle relaxation. You will leave with handouts of these exercises, so that you can begin to explore how you may regularly incorporate them into your life to achieve an enhanced sense of well-being.
