Ways to Give

We offer our donors a variety of ways to make a gift. You may choose to make a gift now, or consider the benefits of gift planning: gifts of property, shares, life insurance or registered assets are valuable ways to contribute to the faculty's success. Planned Gifts

Charitable giving can be about more than benefiting our programs, students, and researchers. With careful planning, donors can support their favourite programs as well as maximize their financial and tax benefits from their gift.

As a donor to the University of Calgary, you may consider the benefits of a planned gift of property, shares or registered assets. You may also choose to leave a legacy to the Faculty of Medicine through a bequest in a will, a charitable trust or a gift of life insurance.

Memorial and Honour Gifts

Every year, people honour friends and loved ones in a truly personal way by making a gift to the Faculty of Medicine in their honour or in their memory.

Gifts in memory pay tribute to the memory of a person who has passed away, and can be used to express sympathy to the family. Many individuals choose to send memorial gifts to support a cause or area of the university that was particularly important to the person being memorialized.

Gifts in honour pay tribute to a living individual. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize a birthday or anniversary; to celebrate a milestone such as a promotion, graduation, or anniversary; or to express congratulations on the birth of a child.

Gifts made to the Faculty of Medicine through the memorial and honour program can be designated for a special purpose, or can be designated as unrestricted, which allows the faculty to direct it to areas of greatest need. Gifts of $10,000 or more can be used to establish a specific award in the name of the recognized individual.

When you make a commemorative gift, the Faculty of Medicine will send the individual you wish to honour or a member of their family a note including your name, but not the amount of your gift. Find out more, please Contact Us.

Make a Gift Now

By Mail

To make a gift by credit card or cheque, fill out our mail in gift form, enclose your cheque made payable to the University of Calgary or credit card information and mail both the form and the gift to the address on the form. Please do not send cash in the mail. If you wish to make a gift in cash, we ask that you hand deliver your donation to the Development Office.

By Phone

If you wish to make a gift to the Faculty of Medicine by Visa or MasterCard, please contact 403.220.8141 for confidential and secure assistance. To ensure the protection of your personal information, we are currently unable to process donations over the internet.
