Detailed applicant requirements

1. Completed anesthesia specialty training.
2. Applicants must
   • have a valid license to practise medicine in Alberta. Details relating to the applications can be located at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Applications must be submitted sufficiently in advance of the fellowship start date to allow time for processing.
   • have an FRCP(C)
   • be eligible to register for an academic, defined or full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, if required.
   • have malpractice insurance with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
   • have medical insurance.
3. Each applicant will be expected to understand and converse with patients and staff in English; therefore, proficiency in English, written and spoken, is a requirement. The English Language Proficiency Requirements can be located on the College of Physicians and Surges of Alberta's website.
4. Applicants who are neither Canadian citizens nor permanent residents require a work permit.
